Picture this....  Not big, but larger Fragile project.  Approx. 100 inside cuts. 
All is coming out well...TILL....  This is the TRUTH....  Was the LAST inside
cut.  Was DISTRACTED by my Neighbor for just a SECOND and BAM....
Top AND Bottom layer broke out completely.  Two middle layers held on.
Decision, Decision....Finshed cutting the outside hoping I could salvage the
two middle layers.  ((Didn't COMPLETELY finish that cut before the BREAKAGE))
So being very careful I started that FINAL LIL CUT (maybe a 1/2 inch).  OOOpppps!
It broke also!  Looked n Looked at everything and there just wasn't anyway to
glue the pieces back in to look good....SO....My FIRST Designer Firewood in a
Long, Long time.  Cry.cry.... Oh well....  One time in Many I guess it ok....  LOL

Danny  I guess we all have neighbors and friends like that.  I tell them around here that if they startle me and I loose a finger or have to go to the hospital they are going too.... and not just to drive me!!!!   Sorry about your project Hope you can get another done without any problem  :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Hey Danny, been there, done that, have the tee shirt! I know you are experienced enough that you are not looking for advice. What I would do is go ahead and finish it. Usually, after taking off the pattern, I can' tell the difference. But if it shows, oh well, designer firewood!

We have all been there Danny, my problem is I didn't have anyone else but me to blame at the time..
Don't give up, get fresh pieces of wood and a fresh coffee and start again.

Designer firewood means designer heat - and it is winter time for some. 

Been there - grab another chunk of wood and get back to work.

Wow, to have alot of hours in a piece and 1 sec. it's toast. I been there and anymore when I get guest come by while I'm in the shop, I stop what I'm doing, and say lets go inside and talk. I never wanna be rude to anyone and ignore them talkin to me and half hear what they are saying, but I guess I'm not the type that can do 2 things at once...LOL!!  Thank goodness wood is cheep.

Dannny, sorry sorry sorry. I know how you feel, I've had a good few pieces of designer firewood. I never got started my latest project as I stood on my board and split it before I even got to the saw. Dooooooh. Oh well I can make two smaller projects LOL.

Know the feeling dan ::) Most of my work is fire wood. My neighbor is thanking me for all the oak, popular, maple, pine, birch, plywood and all of the tape and glue that goes with it.
But like they say: Son practice til ya get'er right!! ;D

And I Thank Everyone for their feelings....Good things sometimes come to a End,
but I got up and STARTED OVER....Yep....  It is completed and I have it almost
ready to send....  Wanted to cut this for a very dear Friend when I started.  Now I
am VERY, VERY HAPPY....  Side note....  When I got down to that LAST CUT.  I just
kept on cutting and TRIED not to think about what happened.  It worked.  Yea! It
was the WONDERFUL feelings I experienced when I finished.  Anyway....Danny :+}

Danny, that is bad. Been there and done that, but like Keefie I did it all by myself. Glad you got it cut and you feel great about it.

sad story Danny, so sad.
what kind of wood was it and how thick was it?
couldn't you glue it back together?

Danny, sorry to hear it.  No possibility of a creative design change to the pattern?  We've all felt your pain from time to time, and probably will again before long!  I think that is part of what draws us to this craft, knowing that at any moment a small lapse in attention or minor distraction can ruin hours of work.  That's why we feel such a great sense of achievement when we complete a project without screwing it up!  :D

Get back on that saw!
