Pyrography

Another hobby that uses wood.  I have used by pyrographic (burning) pen on my wildlife carvings but sometimes, for a break, I like to make pictures.  Both of these pieces were inspired by drawings in a Lean to Draw with Pencils book.  The dock is on a piece of maple 8" X 12" and the roses are on some birdseye maple I had around the shop (7" X 10")

Nice Mike.  Beautiful work.  My wife is starting, trying testing etc wood burning and she was also impressed. She has some irons, tips and some misc stuff including a couple of books.  Now all she has to do is find the time to get started.  Thanks for showing  us your work/art.

Very nice Mike!!!  I do some woodburning myself.  I use a Razortip unit with multiple pens.  I use it mostly on my custom hiking sticks and have done some of it on the handles of my custom hunting knives.

Those both look great. I have only done one wood burning and that was just some lettering on a cabinet I made for my wife. I have been thinking of adding to my hobby. One thing I love about this site is all the great ideas which can inspire us. Thanks for sharing and for telling us what wood you used. Very nice work.

Beautiful Mickie, I also do Pyrography.  I usually use scrollsaw patterns or different patterns I find on the internet.  I couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended  on it.  lol.

Don Rob was kind enough to do a pattern of a picture of my Wimmie.  Here are the two side by side.
