here is my latest project which is titled "palm trees"

I got this pattern from the creative woodworks and crafts, Jan. 2008. Deborah Nicholson designed this pattern.

The piece is made from one piece of pine 3/4x 9x 20. I did all the cutting and shaping. When that was all done, I hand painted each piece using diffrent technics such as wiping paint on and off, sponge and brush painting. I am not much of a painter, but I think it turned out pretty good. The pic I took does not have a finish on it yet because it always seems to have a glare and you can't see the detail sometimes. I plan on spraying triple thick glaze as my finish and probably do it on Saturday. I will post a follow up pic on this tread when its done.

Problems I encountered...forgot to put some reference lines on the backer board, so when it was time to glue the pieces on the board I was a little off. I had to use a dremmel to sand back the board because it was sticking past the piece. Also, the backer board was longer than the capacity of my saw. I had to use a spiral blade to reach some places.

For not being much of a painter, they turned out pretty nice! Well done.
