I appreciate all the views from you guys on here. I enjoy making them, but have ran into a slight problem. I am almost out of ideas. I would like your guys' suggestions on what a video could be over and I would gladly do it. No intarsia though because I don't have the wood to make any. Thanks.

Maybe something like a plate that has 2 parts 2 it, or one of Sheila's candle plate/saucer.

Don?t be afraid of intarsia. I think my first piece was made from two or three wood choices. Like pine, cedar, and oak. Find something simple with just a few pieces and a few colors. There are many simple plans out there. I would love to see a simple first piece video from you. But be careful. I am now expanding my talent with intarsia and enjoying cutting this fine art.

Do you do any other woodwork besides scrolling? Maybe you could make or dress up a cabinet with some fretwork, intarsia, or inlay.

Dustin,

The first Intarsia I did was with pine. I just stained the colors and or painted the colors I needed. Visit my blog and the first picture you will see will be the teddy bear I made for my grandson. That is the first intarsia I did.

Also, I bought some of that glue I seen you use last night. I'm gonna give that a try

That looks great Dean! I hope you are satisfied with the glue, for me it works great for just about every type of scrolling project.  Actually I have made an intarsia before, this is a rooster I made my dad for Christmas last year. I painted the colors, then glued it together.

Thats a nice cutting job you did on that roster. Did you leave it flat or did you shape the peices?

As far as making a video, Intaria is time consuming. Might spend a lot of time editing or doing it in a couple diffrent videos.

My real point to Intarsia is, if you don't have the exotic or a big selection of domestic....make it out of pine and stain or paint. Still looks good and pine is pretty cheap and advailable.

I'll let you know how the glue goes soon
