Christmas Bell
« on: October 12, 2012, 08:09:42 am »
This is my attempt at Sue May's Christmas Bell.   It is a free pattern on her website  http://www.scrollsawartist.com/   I made it from Beech with a red card backer.

Howdy my Friend....  You did a Great Job on cutting this.  I also completed this project for my Craft Show next month.  Made one with Green and other Red.  Sold 2 of these last year, so will offer them again this year.  Can't remember what I got for them.  Any thoughts of this?  Danny  :+}

Hey Keith....  Was remembering from last year.  I cut TWO at a time.  Used the normal BB 1/4" and also the 1/8" BB for the backer....Plus the Red n Green....  Michaels at I think $1.99 per sheet.  So I figured I had approximately TEN BUCKS tied up into it already.  Then the Stain/Oil, varnish etc.  Maybe another couple bucks.  Then if I use the ScrollSaw Formula I would add $10.00 per hour that it took me to finish it.  Lets give the cutting a HOUR.  Sanding, Finishing and other....  Another hour....  Another TEN Bucks........SO........Looks like this project should be worth $22.00 or more.  Hey just think if you used the Expensive Hardwoods.  Whew!  And the Good thing is that you cut TWO OF THEM AT A TIME.  Cool....  Now here in the Deep South of Alabama the buying peoples are Cheap....SO....  I will price mine at....$12.00 each and be Happy.  Later My Friend....  Danny  :+}

Nice cutting Keefie.  What did you use for the back color?

Billy, The back colour was just a piece of red card stuck on the back.

Danny, I'm still a slow cutter and also can't sit for too long either so the cutting took me over a day, how did you manage it in an hour ??? lol  when you coming over to the UK to show me how it's done?? lol
