Connecting a VCR to T.V. ----?
« on: September 06, 2012, 02:53:01 pm »
As some know the wife n I splurged on a big, big LED tv....  Before we used our
20 year old console.  Hey it still works good.  I have figured out how to connect
the DVR to the TV.  Works great....NOW....  We still like to watch VCR's sometimes.
The VCR is pretty old, but has always did its job.  Ran out of the RCA lil jacks on the back of the TV.  Alls left is on the side.  Four different (USB) type connectors.  Their labeled ....  DVI....ARC....HDMI  and there is a USB port.  The VCR has the old style
cable connector along with the RCA part.  Can anyone lead me on?  Thanks, Danny:+}

try grabbing a cable converter, lots of places do them in the UK, so I would have no doubt you should b able to pick one up wherever you are.

I assume RCA you are meaning the Red Yellow White connectors.

Possibly something similar to http://www.sourcingmap.com/dvii-245-male-vga-female-and-rca-adapter-splitter-cable-p-40890.html?currency=GBP&utm_source=google&utm_medium=froogle&utm_campaign=ukfroogle

Hey Trav....  Glad to be yacking with yas.  I am deep down here in Alabama....USA
I am sure the link you had will not help me.  Now I am not knowing what a Cable Converter really is.  Help?  Yes what I refer to as the RCA jacks are the color lil wires you referred to....  I am really, really not into this type of thing.  A friend says the
VCR player I have is so old that it may not be compatible with the modern age.  Don't know.  Anyway....  Thank you for your help and interest....  Danny  :+}

what you can get is a little cable that the red yellow and white cable fit into and the other end plugs into your TV...  a simpler method might be to have the VCR use a scart lead into your dv player then you should be able to tune in the vcr (possibly AV on your DV player)

you can daisy link em - thats what I do with mine ...

You need an RCA to HDMI converter it has the RCA cables on one end and an HDMI on the other.

Howdy Don....Have decided to do just what you said.  After thinking how OLD our
dvd and vcr were (over 10 years) we decided to check into buying one and found
a Toshiba at Walley World for $58 bucks.  Cool.  Thanks....  Danny  :+}
