A Portrait of my Mother.... :+}
« on: August 27, 2012, 03:01:34 pm »
First I want to give my sincerest Thanks to Ron (Joleet) for taking the time to design this pattern for me.

Is it the same with all?  To start cutting at One of 300 different holes you can't see anything changing, but toward the half way point I started seeing my Mom start to
take shape and as I said to my self Mom your starting to come to life.  The more I cut the more everything started to show.  Anyway I cut using 1/8 BB and cut 4 layers.  One for each of my 2 brothers and sister and of course one for myself.  Even the BOTTOM layer came out as clean cut as the top.  Just Love that FD-UR #1 blade.

On pins n needles to read the replys.  Danny  :+}

excellent portrait Danny, your brothers and sister will love it.
I found the same as you, when you start cutting it looks like nothing is right, but as you get further it takes shape, then when nearly finished the picture jumps right out at you. (and if you're like me, you're thinking did I really manage to cut all that out!!!)

To quote my friend Mr Bean, " it?s a picture of Whistler?s mother. And as I?ve learned, staying with my best friend David Langley and his family, families are very important. Even though Mr. Whistler was obviously aware that his mother was a hideous old bat who looked like she?d had a cactus lodged up her backside, he stuck with her, and even took the time to paint this amazing picture of her. And that?s marvellous. It?s not just a painting. It?s a picture of a mad old cow who he thought the world of. Well that?s what I think.?

Ok, this picture you have made is not Whistlers Mother...and I am sure your mother is not a mad old cow...but I hope you get the sentiment of what I am saying, this picture you have made is the best ever because it is your mother. She should be so honored to have her portrait made this way. I can tell you love your mother and you must think the world of her. Thanks for sharing this picture.
