What kind of Font, I'm stumped?
« on: August 26, 2012, 06:49:46 pm »
I'm kind of stumped here.  I'm makeing a cake topper out of wood for a wedding,  the one of steve's "Our Wedding".  I need to put the names of the bride and groom on it with the date they get married.  I'm useing Steves new program.   Where I am stumped is the font.  I have four fall outs in the names.  Can anyone help me with a font that will look nice and be able to keep the fall outs.  HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHelp.

You could use the names as an overlay, then you wont have to worry about islands, hope this helps.

I used the very same pattern and cut the names using the scrollsaw font out of 1/8" BB and glued the names onto the figure.

You can use any font you want and after printing the pattern go back with a ballpoint pen and put in any bridges you want  any where you want. I've done this just recently for a clock I made. Just remember to "think" as you cut. Or use a red pencil as a reminder where the new bridges are.

Here is what I'm talking about. I used "Rave" font which is not designed for scroll sawing and has islands and or floaters normally. I printed it out using outline, drew in my own bridges, cut the pattern words and numbers out of the pattern and arranged them on my clock face the way I wanted them to be. Used spray glue and went to work!
Please note the "4,6, 8, 9, 10, and the e's and o's.
