For the "Word Art" afficionodoes...a QUESTION....
« on: June 01, 2010, 05:13:42 pm »
How about giving the rest of us some idea of the "Typefaces" you use for your projects.

What I am trying to come up with is something to use that approximates the R/C

in the logo at this site...http://rivercityrascals.com/

Many Thanks for any assistance!

Guess I should have looked at the link, a couple that come to mind that are similar are gold rush, and cast iron, I found both at www.fontfreak.com , also you might find something at www.dafont.com

Those are two good web sites for font. I have used them before. You can spend some time just looking.  8)

I download a whole bunch of font last week...then I lost the folder where they went...imagine that.  LOL.  I did find them and overloaded my Microsoft office program.

Graybeard!  Are you a home town boy?  I am a St. Louisan (too?) and seeing River City Rascals in your post sure made my eyes go wide!   :)

Why no trace the R/C in Inkscape. Then you could use it as a pattern anyway you want! Just a thought.  8)

Becky!  St. Peters is where I hang my hat! Rascal's are my TEAM!
Where you is?

Russ: IF I knew how to use inkscape that would be the solution to a lot of things. Have the program but have not delved in to the inner-workings.
Is there a tutorial anywhere?

My S.O. will be out of town for three weeks so I will have plenty free time!

Yes there is GrayBeard. Go to Scroll Saw Village. Go into the Forum Section and you will see a list of categorys. In Town Square, top section, is Village University.
You will find eight tutorials by Travis on how to use Inkscape. He takes you through it step by step. It really isn't that hard. They are very good, I have watched them all. Hope this helps.  8)

This may be "bad" but I go here:
http://new.myfonts.com/

I pick a font I like.
Type in the word I want.
It shows on the screen.
I do a print screen and paste it in Paint.
I cut out what I want.
I put it in Word and print it.

The font possibilities are endless.   :D

Hey GrayBeard, I'm in Affton.  Sorry for the slow reply but I've been out of town for a few days.  Darn work!   ;)
