Where is the best place to buy a sanding mop? double 6" 80 grit?

You have to buy the mandrel separately, and you have to assemble it yourself, so it might not be what you want. But the price is right!

Hey Judy I bought a sanding mop, RJR Studios brand, but I had to purchase it through Sears. Mine works great.

Judy,  I made my own from a roll of cloth backed sandpaper, a bolt and nut, and a bunch of washers.  I'm cheap.

There are instructions at http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.ca/2008/12/make-your-own-sanding-mop-on-cheap.html  He used a mandrel instead of a bolt.

Stupid question but why do you use a sanding mop?  I just use regular sanders or hand sand.

If you are a woodworker and you do any sanding on contoured edges or irregular surfaces, the "Sanding Mop" is the product for you!! This neat little product sands some of the hardest to get at spots. Great for wood moulding, raised panel doors, carvings, bowls, furniture, table legs, restoring antiques... When your option seems to be "I guess I'll have to sand it by hand", let the Sanding Mop do it for you and watch it leave the detail on your piece along with a beautiful finish!

I use the mini 1" sanding mop for my fine finishes on the back and sometimes the front of all my projects.  The only place I could find mine was through Sears too, but since I went to the Ohio show, I think I have found another connection through Steve and his father.

I use it on everything I do. Puzzle pieces and fretwork to rid of fuzzies. Support the piece with your hand and I have only broken a couple of pieces. I even use it on 1/8 inch delicate dragon flys.

Wing span at the widest point 4 - 7/8ths inches. Cut from 1/8 inch baltic birch. Finished with Minwax stain.

Hi Judy,
Scooby and I make our own sanding mops.  We have 80, 120, and 400.  and they work great.  The cost is just the sand paper and a bolt, nut and some washers.  Total cost about $4.50 each.
