Hello all
« on: July 14, 2012, 02:56:16 pm »
I'm Dale from southeast Missouri.  I live on 20 acres in the foothills of the Ozarks.  I am a psychotherapiist (please notice that is all one word) and a hypnotherapist.  I intend to retire in about 15 months and i am looking for a hobby that cah help pay the bills a little in retirement.

I have been thinking about scroll sawing for a while and I finally traded a metal detector that I haven't had time to use for a beginner type scrollsaw.  I have it in my shop and suddenly realized that I don't know where to start.

There are all sorts of patterns available but I think I need to start with something very easy and go from there.

Any suggestions?

I sure wish I could edit that.  It got away before I could proofread.  I can spell but I have a heck of a time typing sometimes..

Hi Dale, welcome to the forum, I'm Keith from Cornwall U.K.
You can edit your posts, there should be an icon on the r/h side of the post looking like a peice of paper with a pen marked "modify", click on that and you can edit your post.

Hello Dale! I am Tony, aka,Toneman from Paris, Texas. Welcome to this fun family of scrollers. Do not hesitate to ask any question; there are no dumb questions, just some dumb answers. LOL. I am like you; started scrolling in March and had never even seen a scroll saw! But, due to the expertise of the people here on this forum, I have gained a lot of knowledge and feel I am slowly becoming an accomplished scroller. Watch Steve's tutorial videos and you will learn a lot!

Thanks for the welcome.  I have spent the last few days trying to learn how to cut a straight line.  I'm getting better.
