The young man that will receive this has no idea that I was working on it. I have one more finishing tech. do do before it is done. I am hoping to take it to his father to give to him on Friday.
The young man's name is Jacob and he was in a bad car wreck a few weeks back. He was speeding on one of those rural highways that hardly anyone drives on. Anyways he misjudged one of the curves and was ejected out the back window of the car. It was almost 6 hours before anyone found him and by that time there was major blood loss. However, Jacob is strong willed and doing much better. He will be in the hospital for awhile. His father owns the local convenience store here in Pomona, MO and I have known him for years. So I asked him what Jacob liked and he said fishing. So This Steve Good pattern caught my eye and I decided to give it a try.
Everything is cut from 1/4 Russian Balitic Birch ply except the backer which is 1/8 oak ply. (thanks to my bro for that). The backer is painted black and the fishy and lettering is stained in Ebony with BLO appllied.
