We had the same problem and Ray (from Seyco) said there was a run of the saws that had a part that wore or something like that (don't quote me on it!) But they sent a new part and it has been fine since. Give them a call or call where you purchased the saw and see if you can get a replacement. Let us know how you do. Sheila
Wife had same problem ray sent us a new upgraded lever and blade holder real easy to install
I've had the problem for about 12 months and have taken the lever out and sanded flat I also find forcing the wood through the saw will make the tension lever releaseJimbo
