Victorian Fan.... :+}
« on: June 19, 2012, 11:05:36 am »
This is one of Steves many, many wonderful designs....
Was waiting for my wood order and had a piece of Lowes 1/4" birch Ply laying around, so decided to make good use of my time.  Anyway I think they both came out real good.  Now the worst part of this hobby.  Finishing them.  LOL
Of course all comments are very, very welcome....  Danny  :+}

Well, I thought this was pretty nice. I showed your work to my wife. She thought it was a tad bit more than nice. To quote her, "Shut up! Is that one piece of wood? That's gorgeous!" Well...needless to say, Good Job!

This is in reply to Being Patience with your cutting.  I treat every project as Four to Six lil projects inside the main one.  Always cut the smallest cuts first.
Then work on the 4 to 6 different other sections.  Drill starter holes only in the section I am cutting.  Always sand the back side after drilling with 220 grit.
After each section is finished cutting take your time to sand any lil fuzzies.  There will not be many if using a FD-UR blade.  I most always only stack to a heigth of 1/2 inch if there are delicate cuts to be made.  I have come to the conclusion from my past 4 or 5 projects that for all inside cuts I will use the
FD-UR #1 blade.  I am able to follow the line almost perfectly whether I am cutting a circle or straight line.

Anyway enough yacking, but would Love to hear others experience with their procedures.  Later....  Danny  :+}

Love to hear you yak Danny! I usually try to drill my holes all at one time, but it never fails, I always miss one or two.
