Not much wood available to work with except MDF and some pine :(
Here is my attempt at the stretched leather look and the portrait.

Stretched leather look is perfect. I had to look close to realize it wasnt leather. If you came up with this project design on your own then super good job....if you found the pattern somewhere, still an excellent job. Very unique. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments :) still a lot to learn .
Mtcurtis- the stretched look was cut seeing a project done by Big Pete of Marlin Monroe and the native was a photo of graffiti on the wall which i found on the net :)

I have an observation for you folks making the stretched hide portraits.
If you want them to look like the real thing use twigs from willows or from
branches pruned in your yard. Finished lumber just doesn't give the right
feel as it wasn't available out in the camp beside a creek in the woods.
If you need it to lay flat against the wall split it first and maybe use a belt sander
to make it lay flat. I would want the bark side to show and maybe even leave some short
stubs from triming the little branches off. All to achive the rustic look.
