Sadness beginning to set in...
« on: April 26, 2012, 01:11:54 pm »
I'm in the process of buying a house... that's the happy part.  Unfortunately, it's a short sale and it doesn't look like it's going to go close before I have to be out of the rental house I'm in now... that's the sad part.  I'm going to have to put everything in storage and live in my travel trailer for a month or so, which means no scrolling for a while.  I have another week or so before I have to pack up, but it's going to go quick and I'm already thinking about how much I'm going to miss going out in the garage and cutting...  :(

That stinks.  However, what do you have to look forward to at the new place?  Hopefully there's an awesome place to set up your new shop, and you can spend the next month planning on how you're going to set it up!  If I could get back some of the time I've spent daydreaming about having a shop set up just the way I want it, I could probably clean off the "honey-do" list and have time left over!

Hope the wait isn't too much on you!

Glen

P.S.  Got any friends who's shops you could borrow in the mean time?
 ;)

That's the best part... the new house has a 3rd car garage!  I'm going to put up a wall between the 2-car garage and the 3rd car garage, install a door between the two, and voila!  A workshop.  That garage and enough space to park my travel trailer are the two reasons for buying the house.  I wish I could get in to do some measuring (and thus some planning), but it's an "arm's length sale" and I'm not supposed to contact the seller.  Unfortunately, I don't know anyone who's shop I could work in.  Hopefully it's a very temporary situation.

Unfortunately, there's sheetrock on the outside walls... doubt that there's any insulation in there but I will definitely insulate the wall I build.  I do use a kerosene bullet heater that does nicely in the NV winters.  As far as A/C goes... I dunno - might look into a small swamp cooler for that.  They work great out here.

Have to have rain to get a rainbow.   Keep your pant legs up and the rainbow will be right around the corner.

Hey Tim come on over I have a whole extra shop now that I do most of my work in the house.

It has a really nifty free standing AC for around $300. that you just plug in. works great!

It doesn't have a bathroom but I have lots of 5 gallon buckets  ;D
I'm from North Dakota
