Do you ever stack cut? The process is pretty much the same.
Make a metal sandwich with plywood on the outsides. use what ever plywood you have on hand (1/8 or 1/4" work well) Stick the stack together using what ever method you like to use; tape the edges, hot glue, nails, double stick tape... I tape the outside edges most of the time.
You need to have a piece of plywood on top and bottom to keep the blade from catching the metal and bending it (copper is soft, so it will be even more of an issue then some of the other metals) The wood keeps things from catching and jumping, when cutting you will hardly realize that there is a piece of metal in the stack.
I use what ever regular blade I would use for the pattern to cut the stack (personally a #5 reverse most of the time) I don't know what the metal cutting blades look like, but I have had really good results with regular blades. The blade will dull a bit quicker then in plain wood, and you will notice when it is getting dull.
