How do you apply your pattern?

Back a month ago I posted on buying the Sticky-back sheets for printing the pattern on and applying it to the wood.  (No painters tape)  Well I have some of my experimenting to yack about....Comments are very welcome.... 

Simple patterns (with not so many inside cuts) using this product was good to the point I told yas I was thru with painters tape n spray glue.  Well unless someone can explain how to remove this product easily I will (and I have) gone back to the good ole blue tape n spray glue. 

One pattern I cut with lots n lots of inside cuts took me AGES to get all of it off the wood. 

I ordered 250 sheets of 8.5 x 11 sheets.  Still have probably 245....Danny  :+}

When you use those, make sure to buy the re-positionable sheets and you should have no problems.  That is what I use now instead of the $1 store shelf paper that comes off really easy also.  That way I have all the benefits of the shelf paper in an easy to print on  label.  If you buy regular full page labels that are not meant to be moved, you will have to pull out the goof-off the remove it.

I don't buy the repositionable due to the increased cost.  I either tape with painter's tape first and then use the sticky sheet, or if I don't want to tape it, I just use a heat gun which makes the sticky sheets peel right up.  Harbor Frieght (not a place I often recommend) usually has their heat gun for about $14.  fast and cheap!

i use painters tape first then my pattern.dio them in mineral spirits(turpintine) works good.

Danny--I use those labels all the time after cutting put some paint thinner on a clothe and dab  it across the pattern --let it soak in a few minutes and then peal the label off- wipe the cutting with paint thinner and let dry--works for me--if you aren't going to use the labels let me know what you want for them--Richard aka thumbs

I cover the wood, top and bottom with cellophane packing tape, spray glue pattern on top, and cut.  Tape and pattern come off in one piece easily and the tape on the bottom allows the wood to slide well on the saw table.

I have been using blue painters tape and a glue stick for a while now.
This weekend I found and finished a project I started back in September (6 MONTHS, it wasn't complicated I just lost it in the shuffle for a while and forgot about it ) The pattern was still stuck to the tape and didn't lift off as I was cutting, and the tape came off beautifuly when I was done. I don't think I will ever do anything else!

Hey Danny, I use either a heat gun or I spritz on some mineral spirits from a spray bottle. Either way the paper will come right off!

Blue painters tape then 3M #77 spray adhesive then clear packing tape over the pattern to prevent smearing and lube the blade.

Well I thank ALL for your input....  Think I figured since two cut patterns using the sticky back paper peeled of fairly easy this was gonna be the norm., but with 200 inside cuts (lots of lil parts) the paper just did not peel off very easy.
I did use the (Harbor Freight heat gun) heat gun and in some areas it lifted of ok, but the lil areas.  Nopper!  Thought about using the mineral spirits or paint thinner, but thought it would make A MESS of my cut pattern which would be very hard to remove with such fine cutting in most areas. 

The Final decision is to stick with what I know works real well....

BLUE PAINTERS TAPE AND SPRAY GLUE....

I've been using shelf paper then spraying on the 3M repositionable glue and the the paper pattern and have had great results. Once I've cut the wood the pattern & shelf paper comes right off with no residue left to clean off and the shelf paper acts as the lubricant.
