Table Saw decision forced!
« on: March 04, 2012, 07:23:33 pm »
Put my 2 1/2 year old Skil table saw on craigslist yesterday at 5:30 p.m.
Had 5 potential buyers by 9:30 a.m. and it was picked up and cash in my pocket by 2:30p.m. today!
Bought that saw recon from CPO 2 1/2 years ago for $99 with free shipping and got $80 for it. Ten bucks a year is cheap rental!

Decided to go with the Bosch GTS1031.
More than adequate for what I need and reviews were most favorable except for the guys who wanted a $350 portable saw to do the job of a $1,500 cabinet saw. I call them either 'dummies' or "Tool Snobs".

Will be gone for a few days so will order when I am away so it is delivered Friday then I can play all weekend.

I will review the Bosch as I get into using it.

Hey GB, Sounds like you made a great deal on your old saw. Hope your new one does what you need it to!

I look forward to hearing your reviews. I have my dad's old table saw. It is not the good kind of old tool, and I am sort of keeping my eyes open for a replacement.

Well if nothing else I will gain 16 sq. ft. of floor space...the Bosch will sit on a ledge under the workbench when not in use and the old space will be free!

AND the new one will be much more accurate I am sure!

I think you will be happy GB. I have no complaints with Bosch products at all. They are pretty darn nice tools..

I have both Skil and Bosch in my shop.  The Skil tool has not been used in well over a year whilst the Bosch is used close to daily.

Enjoy the new "toy".
