Hi Everyone. I returned my ex-21 to the supplier a couple of weeks back as I had major problems with it and could no longer use it. I am hoping to get a full refund and then buy a Hegner scroll saw but there is a small problem. I am in the UK and the law is a little complicated. I called into the supplier yesterday and they explained that they cannot give me a refund and said the refund would have to come from the importer and the supplier is meeting with a representative from the importers later today to decide what they are going to do.

I may be offered a replacement machine if if this were the case I would go for the ex-16 rather than the 21 as this would be more than big enough for what I do. If I want to make anything bigger I have a Dewalt 788 MK 1. I was wondering if any of you guys have an ex 16 and if so have you had any problems with it. I think it is exactly the same as the 21 apart from the size of course. Many thanks in advance.

Hi chippygeoff, I had an ex16, in fact I've had five, all had vibration problems and some had blade alignment problems. My supplier tried everything to sort it, and eventually offered me an upgrade to an ex21. This was delivered last week and so far no problems with it. Not sure if this helps you or not though

I've been using my Ex 16 for about a year.  I love it, no problems, except... the upper blade clamp needed adjusted, then replaced.  Ray at Seyco came to my rescue.  Just received the new clamp this past week and haven't had much time to give it a real workout.  But so far seems to be working just fine.
