Need a plan
« on: December 06, 2011, 08:45:26 am »
Hi, folks. I need a plan for cancer ribbon. It needs to have survivor cut into it. I have look here on the site and hove found an Autism Awarness ribbon. Also being new to Scrolling, I have noticed in different patterns (as in the ribbon) that there are lines drawen on the project. Is this done with a "Sharpie Pen" or what. I have seen eagles with what looks like feathers drawen in the center of the project.

Thank you everyone for your help.

Gary

Hey Gary, The lines you are referring to are called veins. They are cut. If they emanate from an outside or inside cut, you cut them when you do the cutting. If they are not attached, You need to drill a hole on the vein to insert the blade, then cut the vein. You will have to use very small numbered drill bits, and a mini arbor to hold the drill bit. The drill bits and mini arbors are available at: www.mikesworkshop.com or www.sloanswoodshop.com
If you are not comfortable with cutting the veins, leave them out.

dgman, Thank you very much. I have an old Craftsman with pin in blades. Guess I will leave the lines out.

Grampa, OH, yeah. I think these ribons will work great. Thank you, Thank you!!

Nice job Paul.  Thanks as well.  May try this for a family member.
