Knuffingen International Airport is opened!

World's largest model airport the Knuffingen goes on show

Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg

It's an amazing show! Check it out if you ever have the chance to visit Hamburg, Germany. I have been there a couple of times, it's simply mind blowing what they have build there. I need to see the new Airport (I have just seen it in the begin of construction).

Thanks, Torsten.  That was an amazing video to watch.  I never thought of such a thing as a model airport.

Its really amazing. But it's not so much the money - there is a lot of good work behind this.

It all started with the normal trains. There were too much of them - so they made them computer controlled.
Then there was Gerit - one of the owners, who was making those little cars and road scenes. He managed to let them also drive around computer controlled. Then the hole thing just went insane...

The computer control is needed to have enough cars, trains and now even airplanes moving around. This adds the "spirit of real life" to the otherwise quite static thing.

one never knows - Steve just started something similar ;D

I didn't mean to imply it was only about money ... the time involved, the planning, the concept ... watching the video sometimes you forget it wasn't real ... It is totally amazing.

ok, Marion, I didn't want to get on this. For this size of project is some money needed - that's also true.

One thing Gerrit has still not accomplished yet, is to let ships move computerized. They don't react direct on the commands, that's a big problem. But I think he will also get that finished - some day.
