Hi Steve, can you explain how I go about adding an avatar as my profile picture?

Let me explain some:

left top, under Steve's banner click "Profile"
Left menu go to "Forum Profile Information"
ontop you'll see the Profile Picture thing
3 choices: choose from a list, link to a pic or upload one (what you probably want)
Your pic for uploading must be pretty small, usually around 100px at the long side.
Don't forget to click "save profile" on the right bottom corner!

If you have trouble with the picture you want to use, let us know.
