Happy dancing in shop!
This thing is great!
Drill/driver is well balanced and fits the hand very well.
Batteries charge in a flash. I tied the trigger down and ran the battery all the way down and it was back fully charged in half an hour.
GREAT Torque
Good clutch
Drives 3" deck screws with no problem
Saw is a great addition!
Little 3 3/8's in. blade, 24 tooth
Wonderful for those little pieces you want to cut down for making small items
Cuts 1 X 2 cedar like a hot knife thru butter
Does tend to tear the ends of 1/8" p'wood but just make sure you cut 'face down'
1/8" Walnut and cherry cut fine
I'm glad I got it and will let you all know if anything else develops..Good OR BAD

Thanks For the update GB. I have had a Makita 14V for about ten years now without any problems. The batteries still take a charge and lasts for hours!
I certainly would recommend Makita to anyone!

Do you guys store one battery in the charger all the time so it is always charged? Just wondering the proper way to do it.

Junk is something you've kept for years and throw away three weeks before you need it.

Hey Dunk, Mine are Ni-Cad. I do not leave them in the charger. I just charge them up when they run down. Takes from 15 to 20 minutes to charge.

I've had a Makita screwdriver/drill for a good 10 years and the batteries charge just fine. I do the charging the same as DG, charging the spare, taking it out of the charger and just setting it aside until I need it. Works good for me!

I use a Dewalt 18V Drill driver for carpentry and keep one battery charged and the other in the drill. So I've always got a charged battery.

Mike, the Makita charger have a load-control. Yo you could leave the spare in there until needed. I always place the loaded battery on top of the charger. When empty I change and load the empty one immediately. Takes max. 30min. to charge.
