Dry in Texas?
« on: July 15, 2011, 12:14:05 am »
How DRY IS It in Texas ??

Out of 255 counties in Texas 244 are under a burn ban.

A buddy out of Longview said he'd killed a mosquito that was carrying a canteen.

A man in Dime Box said the chicken farmers were giving the chickens
crushed ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.

In Lake Palestine , they caught a 20 lb catfish that had ticks on it!

But just this week, in Bryan, a fire hydrant was seen bribing a dog.

It's so dry in Texas that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling,
the Methodists are using wet-wipes,
the Presbyterians are giving out rain-checks,
and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water.

Now THAT's Dry!

Yeah it's got to be that darn global warming's fault!
While up here where it is normally in the 80 to 100 F range it only got up to about 75 today, we've hardly had a summer to speak of, next thing it'll be winter again.

Not kidding about dry in Texas.  We've been under burn ban for some time now.  Last rain was in April and that was just enough to get the concrete wet.  My Dad is in Seguin and he has not had any measurable rain since December.  It could be worse.  I was in New Mexico in May and it was actually illegal to smoke outside due to the high risk of forrest fires.
