Cathy, Thanks for asking the original question about puzzles, and thanks everyone for your input on mounting the pictures. I know about and have seen all of Steve's videos, but wanted to get your input!

I've always done packages for the troops but that was probably the most rewarding one I have done.  I still get requests and gladly cut them.  Anything for our soldiers overseas.

A hint to anyone who wants to try one - put it on cheap photo paper.  The thinner photo paper seems to seal down to the wood better.

Hey Dan....Steve has a Good video about mounting your pictures to the blank etc.  Check it out and also he sells different sizes of jigsaw patterns.  I like to design my own patterns.  Your imagination has no end.  Danny  :+}
I should probably know this, but how do I find his tutorials?
Cathy

You tube is our friend But He also has them on his Blog @ http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/
down the left hand side it says Scroll saw workshop videos You should be able to find all of his videos

I mount my pictures to the wood by spraying adhesive to both the back of the picture and the piece of board.  Press them together and make sure you have pressed them together well.  I always have a piece of 1/8" ply on the top and bottom of the stack.  That way any fuzzing or splintering is on those outside pieces that I throw away.

Very Clever.

When my son-in-law was deployed, I sent him one of his daughter and him at the park.  He showed it around and I ended up cutting one for all in his unit.  I got pictures from all over the country.  It was great.

I love how you got involved in cutting puzzles for your son-in-law and his unit.  I have cut ornaments for Project Rudolph, but not puzzles.  That is very cool.

I'm a puzzle head too.  Jigsaw and tray and standup etc.  Plus mind puzzles.  I also have helped the past couple of years with project rudolph....

I love cutting puzzles.  Mostly standup animals, but I once took a really good picture of our Grandaughter at a wedding.  It was a lucky shot.  Looked so good I attached it to a piece of plywood and turned it into a jigsaw puzzle.  That looked so good I built and oak frame around the puzzle.  It was a real treasure.
