Reversing blades question
« on: May 07, 2011, 01:01:59 am »
Do any of you ever reverse your blade so that it cuts as you pull the wood toward yourself, just the opposite of pushing into the blade?
Reason I'm asking is, if the pattern you are cutting is too large to fit in the throat of the saw and cut in the normal way without reverting to a spiral blade.
Any pros or cons?

It can be done but it is tricky.  First off, you tend to pull too hard and slide the blade out of the holder.  Then you have to convince your brain to follow the pattern lines.  Every thing is backwards.  You are better off learning to use the spiral.

Hey Gabby, when you come to a situation like that, you can take some pliers and twist your blade 1/4 turn so you still push your project, but you push from the side so you have plenty of room.
