Benefit For A Fire Fighter Friend

Saturday I attended a benefit that I helped organize for a Fire Fighter Friend (Ric) who had to retire last year on disability due to lung cancer. I remember when Ric was hired and has been my friend for twenty five years. He is doing good has one more treatment and then we will see if it goes into remission. About one hundred and fifty people showed up to give him support and encouragement in his time of need.

Aproximately $10,000 dollars was raised for Ric and the Fight For Air Climb - American Lung Association Saturday. 

We had a local Pipe & Drum Honor Guard show up and play for Ric at the benefit. Here is a short video of them playing I have posted.

Wow Russ that was a Great Video.....I feel for him and his family My mother passed from Cancer after her third bout with it so I wish him all the Luck in the world...

Thanks for posting Russ , my thoughts and prayers go out to Ric; my son died of cancer at the young age of  43 and it?s a hard thing for the family to go through. I pray everything turns out good for Ric.

The Pipes & Drums will bring a tear to your eyes. I am proud that we started ours about a year ago, with about 20 members. They just played at the FDIC in Indy last week. If you need anything, don't hesitate to let me know. Best wishes to Ric & his family.
