Still practicing Paul, then the snow put me out of action, I work in my open sided carport, basically a garage without walls. Way too cold to work, and we have more snow coming tomorrow afternoon.  >:(
I did do some numbers and a letter from a stencil pattern, and they came out pretty good, but I'm still really slow. Scared the crap out of myself when the blade came loose from the bottom clamp!
Just before the storm hit I bought a foot control from Harbor Freight for $9.99 works good, foot on it to go, foot off to stop. Looking forward to some warm weather. 50-F would be good it's been in the 30's.
I'd really like to have something to show for all this. Gabby

Hey, Gabby, next time you plan a trip to Harbor Freight, let me know.  I live about 2 miles from the one in Medford and would love to meet you.

Bill that would be great problem is I rarely leave CJ as a matter of fact one of the guys from the croaker club offered to pick it up for me as he was going to be right there. I was going to order it online I couldn't buy the gas for that trip for what the shipping cost. I had a couple of bouts with blood clots in my leg and since then I can't stay seated for too long before the pain gets to be too much, then I have to get up and walk around or at least stand. Last time I went to GP I was in agony by the time I got home. So I don't travel unless I have to. P's me off too because I love to travel. I'll send you my phone number via e-mail and if you're going to be out this way give me a shout.

If you need something from Medford, I have a co-worker who lives in CJ, so he can bring it to you or I can.

Well the rain let up a bit, and I got to use that new foot switch yesterday. Made some practice cuts and you can't guess how much being able to shut the saw off immediately when you want to relieves the stress level. This may be one of the best ten bucks I've ever spent!  ;D ;D
I was able to work my way through a 90 degree turn without breaking the blade. By being able to start and stop without fumbling for the switch and keeping them on the work I was able to plan and execute my movements. Placing my hands where they needed to be and then just step down and continue cutting. I think this will help me learn faster. Now if the weather will just cooperate! Supposed to be some more coming in, but spring is just around the corner.
I went to the local lumber yard and dumpster dived their wood scrap, and got some stuff that looks to be oak from some crating, from 3/8" thick also approximately 1/2" and 3/4" or 1" and about 3" wide from about 12" to  3 feet long, haven't put a tape to it yet. Needless to say it was soaking wet, so I'll have to wait for it to dry before cutting. Best part is it was FREE!
I'll update once I have something to tell, I'm hopeing it won't be too long until I can put something in the brag thread.

Thanks Paul, I'm still waiting for my daughter to re-send the photo of my friend, between the weather and computer problems she still hasn't been able to get it to me.
