For us All....

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

I love Mark Twain!  He was certainly an intelligent and creative man.  He also lived through difficult times and survived them.

Very wise quote, GB.  Thanks for posting!

I just finished reading his autobiography written 100 yrs. ago with orders not to be published until 100 yrs. after his death, it weighed 4 lbs. but worth it, way ahead of his time :)
I love the smell of saw dust in the morning.

Great quote GB.
Need to get hold of that book did not know he wrote it with those orders. Coming to think of it, it is something that he would have done.

I just thought this particular 'gem' would be appropriate for those who are a bit shy about embarking on a new 'hobby' and concerned about what others may think of their efforts.
I know I was until I found this group who are genuinely supportive of each other's efforts and are a definite positive influence.

If you are a fan of Sam Clemens there is a great book called "Lighting Out for the Territory" about his travels out west.

Marion...I would only laugh if it were something that you meant for us to laugh at!
Say something like the "Don't Poop in my Yard" sign that was floating around a while back.

I try very hard never to laugh AT someone!
I will, however, laugh WITH you, if you would like me to join you!

I have done my share of dumb things and made my share of mistakes and I know the feeling of being 'laughed at'...

And it HURTS!

GB, I hope we laugh "with" each other often.  I usually don't give a darn what someone else thinks about me.  I will just disassociate my self from them.  That's what I like about this forum...no one tries to act better than someone else.  I'm proud of how far I have come in the few months I have had the saw and know I will do well given time.  Now, no more being serious...I like to laugh and kid and hope no one ever takes something I may say in the wrong way.

Marion, One of my favorite things about this forum is that we can joke around with each other without offending anyone. If it gets out of line, Russ will come on and gently steer us back in line.
We never get political, or overly religious and never try to belittle anyone.
I come here for friendship and to help those that need help in this hobby.
