putting fuse holder back into dewalt 788
« on: February 19, 2011, 06:52:49 pm »

I brought a new fuse, and holder and big holder.

the fuse goes into a small holder that says "press" and that goes into a bigger holder that has two slots for the wires that are inside the 788.

before I mess up this new fuse holder, how do I remove the part that says "press" in order to put the new fuse in.

I heard talk of a "tool" that I didn't get with my used 788.

In the past I put a small screw drive in, but I believed I broke it that way.

Could someone explain how to replace the fuse.

TIA

Hey John, Yes you use a small screw driver. At the top of the fuse is a small slot, put the blade of the small screw driver into the slot from the top and gently push down.  The holder will pop open and expose the fuse. Do not pry it open. It will open with a gentle push of the screw driver. The missing tool would of fit into this slot, But again, use a small blade screw driver.
