I had a "Flying Dutchman moment" tonight

Hey!

Today I had a big letter in the post - my new blades. Just wanted to try them, just a short stop in the wood shop to test them.
I stayed about 2 hours. Could not stop scrolling :P Finished the complete small shelf from Steve. Took of the pattern and was absolutely impressed how clean the edges are.

I can't even express how fantastic those blades are. I used a Scroll Reverse #3 on some 1/2" walnut - the blades ran through it like butter. I'm looking forward to use the Ultra Reverse.

so sweet - so gentle - so precise. It takes my scrolling to a complete new level.
I can't believe what I did miss until now.

Need to get a cigarette (or cigar?) and a beer now ;D

EDIT: I noticed, that this blades are not angled at all, they are absolute straight. Had to move my bar chair 5" to the left :) to get myself in line...

regards
Torsten

*lol* no, I actually bought them here in Germany from the manufacturer. They are produced not far away - I might try to visit the factory sometime (if possible to to get a look at the production).

I would love to order them from Mike - the blades are even cheaper purchased from him(!) - but it seems to me a bit strange, unnecessary and over all absolutely environmentally unacceptable to ship an item 2 times over the pond.

I am glad you cleared that up. Flying Dutchman blades are fantastic. I don't use anything else.  :)

They really are great!

The blades are so much easier to work with.
I'm impressed how fast but straight the cuts became.

Marcel,

that's ok - you have to talk dutch with Mike!
And on the fact that Mike passes his savings on, they might even be cheaper buying them from him and shipping them back over to Europe.

The manufacturer only is only shipping them in Germany.

So - what I like to know: are those blades all cutting that straight?
With my simple blades from the local hardware store I always had to saw angled and had to constantly adjust the angle while scrolling. Those FD blades are different, they stay on track much more easily.

FD blades are all fantastic. The ones I have used anyway. Even the spiral blades seem to behave better.
