Just google graph paper, and there's a few sites, free, to copy/print graph paper. If you need to make some straight or long cuts,make a copy. and it's much easier to follow a thin line than a pencil line. Straighter cuts!

I bought a boat load of it from the dollar store awhile back and I have found that if you use the store bought kind just retrace the lines with a rule and a black Sharpie it does work wonders I even print out my patterns on it makes it easier to follow the lines by breaking up the pattern into small blocks..
May not work for everyone just saying what works for me.
