Done on 1/4" BB ..... don't know what size blade, as I have a bad habit of forgetting what I put in last ..at least it hung in there until the end and then I had to bury it !!!  Any good ideas on keeping track of blades ??????????

That looks great!  I love the pattern too! :D

Here is what we do with blades to keep them organized. We use the plastic boxes for embroidery thread and crafts.  They were like $1 each at Wal-Mart.  We cut out some of the dividers to make the chambers long enough to hold the blades.  They stack nicely and are easy to keep organized.  It is a simple and effective fix. :)

Well done Marion!  I also don't remember what blade I currently use. If it keeps cutting I keep going and then forget what it was. Right now I don't know what is in my saw! ::)

Sheila, now that seems to be the best idea for blades I have seen yet. Leave it to a Lady to have the easiest and simplest idea! I was going to use the pill bottle idea and build a rack or something for them. You know "manly". ;D But I like yours and am not ashamed to admit it! :)

Well now, HW . . . . I have to be honest with you all . . . my partner, Keith thought up the idea of the boxes!  So you have to score one for the male gender on that one! LOL

(Although I did tell him it was a GOOD idea!)  ;D

Marion, Excellent cutting!
Here's what I do to keep track of the blade I am using. I use Plastic tubes that I store the blades in. I built a holder to hold the tubes. the tube are marked with the type of blades inside. When I choose a blade, I take the tube out of the holder and set on the table next to my saw. That way when I need another blade, I pick from the tube that is sitting on the table.
I get my tubes from www.sloanswoodshop.com

Thank you both for the blade ideas.  Dan do you have a pattern for the America sign on the front of your holder ???  Harold I use the blade until it just can't go anymore (which ever one it was ) !!!

Marion, Here you go! http://www.stevedgood.com/america.pdf
As far as using up a blade, I use it till it stops doing what I want it to.
If the blade last the whole project great, but if it just last a few cuts, I toss it and load up a new blade. Blades are cheap, don't risk ruining a project just because you don't want to change the blade!

nice job. very cute.  I only use spiral blades so I don't have a lot of sorting to do.

Any good ideas on keeping track of blades?

I also do not know how the blades I currently use are named (or numbered). But I do look at them and try to get a feeling for which blade to use. And I keep them in a saw blade holder, so I put them back after sawing is done. This way I keep'em at least separated  ::)

I also keep my blades in tubes, available from sloans or seyco or many other places.  My saw holds 12 of these tubes on the sides.  I move whatever tube of blades to the front when I'm using them.  Then I don't have to think about it.
