When requesting a pattern from a picture you have, First; make sure it is not copyrighted and or you have permission to use it. Second; size, quality, resolution, brightness all help determine the patterns detail. I realize that web sites have limits to uploads, so just keep that in mind when choosing a picture for a pattern.... Hope this helps someone.
