Spindle Sander

Been wanting a spindle sander for awhile.  Waiting for Santa to see what he brings.  Was wondering how the inexpensive ones that attach to a drill press work?  Are they even worth trying until I get a bigger one.  Saw one at Harbor Freight for $129.  The drill press type are under $20 on ebay.

I love my spindle sander. I have a cheap version, I think preformax from Menards. I also have 3 delta's and a jet at school.
I think the spindle sanders are way better then the drill press version.

A spindle sander is a great tool. I have the one Home Depot sells. Works better then I thought it would. I think it was 100 bucks. One of the Black Friday deals.

I have so little room in my shop that I don't have space for a dedicated spindle sander.  I use spindles in my drill press.  I prefer the drums that use normal sandpaper rather than "tubes".  They don't last as long, but are cheap and quick to change out.  I recently ran across a delta drill press accessory which converts a drill press into an oscillating spindle sander and have been using it.  It works pretty well.  I got it at a local woodworking store for $50 (good deal).
