Well we are hitting the road this morning.  Will spend a few days in Bakersfield with my brother and his family and then on to Seattle.  Bye Bye San Diego.

Hee, I also read it as South Dakota.  North sounded like a bad idea to me too!

Have a fun and safe trip, Chief.

Is this a vacation or a change of 'station'?

GB it is a permanent change of station to Bremerton, WA.  The ship is changing homeports.  I might retire up there and go to work at the shipyard.

Good ol' Bremerton is my hometown. Both grandfathers retired out of PSNS. I haven't lived there since '83, Mom and a brother still do, and some cousins I think.

Grandson, not the pilot, is attending Gonzaga Univ. in Spokane. He loves it up there.
Interesting since he said originally he wanted to go where there were "beaches and babes"!

Good luck in the new location. How long to 'retirement'?

Well we spent 2 nights with my brother and his family in Bakersfield, CA.  We stopped for the night in Yreka, CA right at the OR stateline.
GB I will be eligible to retire in Jan of 2012.  I want to retire and the wife wants me stay in.  I am going to try and get a job at PSNS and stay in the area up there.  The cost of living is fairly inexpensive and it is beuatiful up there.
Talk to ya'll later.  (Thats my Texas speak for bye)
