Hummingbird Plate
« on: November 08, 2010, 08:20:51 pm »
The plate is 8 in. in Diameter.  The top layer is Oak, the bottom layer is soft maple and the blue backing is laquered blue tissue paper that has been laquered on to the back.  Finished with several coats of semi-gloss laquer.

Very nice Dw, I like the backing also. Is it paper you can buy in the craft stores. I usually use veneer, I will have to try this.

Mark it is definatly paper.  You can get packs of colored tissue paper at most craft stores.  Even the Dollar stores sometimes carry them.
