Pattern Makers, I'm asking for HELP
« on: October 27, 2010, 09:17:56 am »
I would like to learn the art of pattern making but I am one of those that have trouble drawing a straight line using a ruler.

I have 3 tools to use in Pattern Making:
1. Coyote Stencil Shop
2. Gimp 2
3. Adobe Photoshop CS4

I am experimenting with all 3, trying to figure out the best one for me. (if you have a recommendation, please let me know.)

I have attached my first try using Coyote Stencil Shop. I AM NOT ASKING YOU TO DO THE PATTERN FOR ME.  I am asking you to critique it and tell me what I'm doing wrong. The face doesn't look right but the whole thing has problems.

Your suggestions and help would be appreciated.

This should be a good thread  ;D I am new to this hobby, and using this type of software.  I just got Corel Draw x5 and have been trying to figure out all the tools.  I am a super computer geek, I have been using computers since 1983.  But for the life of me, I am having the hardest time with this type of software, I also have a hard time drawing a strait line with a ruler ;D

Steve has LOTS of videos using Coral raw.  I put them on my desktop and that way I can divide the screen so I can have Steve right beside me.
I'm from North Dakota
