Yep, I bet your blade is upside down.  We've all done it.

i am using #1SR blade. this is the first time using flying dutchman blades i usually use whatever brand lowes has.

Is this your first time using reverse blades?  Reverse blades have a handful of teeth pointed "the wrong way" at the bottom.  These can pick the stock up a little, even when installed the right way.  If you've never used a reverse before, it may be a little surprising.

The other reply's are probably correct, you might have the blade upside down.  I have to use a magnifier on some of the smaller blades to make sure I can tell which end is up.  With the small section of reverse teeth, you need to make sure you are looking at the teeth in the middle of the blade to determine the proper cutting direction.

Same thing happen to me the first time I used a FD SR#5 - I started out with the blade that came with the saw and this did not happen.  I put it in the blade mentioned, and it jumped a little, scared the you know what out of me.  I learned to hold the wood a little firmer, and have not had the issue anymore.  I have not put a blade in upside yet..... YET... but I am still new, and have only changed 3 blades  ;D

It is one of the two things everyone has mentioned. Make sure it is not upside down, if not hold down on it firmer. The small section of reverse teeth at the bottom of the blade help make a clean cut on the bottom of the wood.  8)

It's easy to "feel" the teeth. Hold the blade between your thumb and index finger. Run your other thumb  along the teeth. You will feel if the main teeth are running up or down. Make sure the main teeth are pointing down, and the reverse teeth are pointing up. It's that easy!
