This set is made out of Mahogany. I really love the way it looked after I finished it. Lately, one of my favorite finishes is applying mineral oil with a brush and allowing it to soak in a bit. I then gently rub it into the surface with 600 grit sandpaper and wipe off the excess. I do this in several coats. After allowing it to dry a bit, I give it a couple of light coats of spray shellac. Since these don't need to have a super-durable finish, it works really nice. The oil really brings out the beautiful colors in the wood and leave it with a nice sheen. I like the spray shellac because it covers so evenly and also leaves a warm glow to the wood. I am glad you like it.
