Leaving The Nest
« on: August 11, 2010, 03:03:02 pm »
OK it is official. Our last two, out of seven, are starting to fly and will be leaving the nest. Cody the last one to pass his Florida Driving Test today. Cory & Cody will graduate in 2011 and start flying off into the wild blue yonder. If it is like the others they won't fly too far. All our children ( Three daughters, Three son-in-laws, Four Grand-children, Four sons, One Daughter-in-law ) live within ten miles of the main roost. LOL.  << Genesis 1:28 >>Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply.  Life is good, and our family is growing.
The young ones are spreading there wings and ready to fly.   8)  8)  8)

Russ, I know what you mean..I cried when my oldest left to join the Army.  Letting the others go was a bit easier, but as you said, the family is expanding.  Just look at what the new frontier will bring.

I bet Christmas is fun at your house Russ!  That is if they can break you away from the forum. ;)

Russ: A friend of my mother - as the kids flew away - she took down walls. You should see her master bedroom. She started eyeing the kitchen, but her husband stopped her.....LOL
( The kids can come to eat now and then - they are NOT moveing in.  She loves them dearly, HOWEVER ! ! !) LOL

Our kids are always welcome to come to our house but, they can't bring any furniture, keepsakes or clothes for more than 3 days.
We love them dearly, that is why we kicked them out of the house at the age of 18.

I think I have posted/said this before so if I just ramble on forgive me. Every Sunday we have Family Dinner. All (Three daughters, Three son-in-laws, Four Grand-children, Four sons, One Daughter-in-law, sons girl friends) and on occasion other family members show up. Fifteen to Twenty Five people ninety percent of the time. This tradition has and continues to keep Our Family very close. So we get to see our (children, grandchildren, family) every week. I thank God everyday for what he has given me.  :)  :)  :)

Great postings.  I have one son and family within 10 miles, the other two are roughy 1500 miles away in different directions so only see them once or twice a year.  Enjoy the time with them while you can.
