Cherry Wood

I have never claimed to be a lucky person.  Tonight I was looking through my stacks of wood and scrap pieces and came upon a little treasure.  I found 9 Cherry boards...all 6" to 6 1/2" in width with 3 boards each of 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2".  Most around 20" long and a few were over 30".  4 square edges, no warping or cupping, sanded and ready to go!  I remember buying them a couple years ago on eBay...but they went in the garage with the other wood and I never saw them again.

Now...if I kept a neat and organized shop...this little treasure would've never been hidden under miscellaneous pieces and I wouldn't have had the joy of finding it tonight.  I knew there was a reason why I have crap everywhere!! 

Now...if I could just find my favorite tape measure out there...

Hey sp, That cherry will make a beautiful box! I'm sure you will have plenty left over for some nice Christmas ornaments!

That my friend is a real FIND!
Unfortunately I have so little space that I will never be that lucky!
My luck usually comes from driving down a street and seeing a pile of 'crap' that someone has placed at the curb for 'bulk' pick-up day and I spy some usable wood! If I spot something I ALWAYS go to the door to ask permission to take things ..just in case!

Finding wood is always a great thing, especially Cherry. The jewelry box will look beautiful in Cherry.
