Tinting Plexiglass

Does anyone have any information on how or what to use to tint clear plexiglass in a color?  I am looking for purple, green, etc...and clear plexiglass is much cheaper than buying it already tinted.

Try some stained glass paint you get at MIchaels.  Try it on a small scrap first and see how it works out.  You will have to cut out the piece first and clean up the edges and apply the stain last.

I found the paint from Michael's.  That is going to be perfect.  What do you use to glue the plexi to wood?  I want to tint the glass and use it in a night light pattern, gluing it to the back of the front wood piece in the light.

I have no idea.  I have never glued plxi to wood.

I have used a product called "E-6000" adhesive to glue polished Brazilian Agate slices to plexiglas with good success. It should fill any 'voids' in the contact space between the plexi and the wood.

You will find it a Michaels, paint stores, even some of the big box stores.

I used Weldbond to adhere plexiglass to wood worked fine for me.  Edward
