Brand new scroller
« on: July 11, 2020, 09:24:16 am »
Well, I guess I'd best introduce myself.  Name is Ray from St. Charles, MO.  Been dabbling in scrolling off and on for about 2 years.
My machine is a Porter Cable I bought at Lowes.  Just an entry-level saw.  I'm not a dedicated scroller so I can't justify one of the upper-class saws.  This one is adequate for my skills which are minimal, but I get by.
I will have many questions for all of you experienced scrollers and I hope to learn more and get better.  But for now, I'll stick to my other woodworking projects of which I am more familiar.
Thanks for allowing me to join your site.

Welcome!

Get Steve's catalog of patterns (I got it on the thumb drive) and look through it.  Doing his patterns will grow your skills.  They're a great mix of 'easy enough to do' and 'just a bit of stretching your skill'.  Plenty of fun and useful things too.
