Jig Saw Puzzle Blades

What is a good size blade to use cutting out Jig Saw Puzzles. I have no luck with FD puzzle blades.

I tried FD-Ultra Reverse 1 and Olsen 2-0 but I got a better fit with FD Puzzle blades.

I also found that you have to be at 90 degrees.

I have tried puzzle blades but they wander off the line. I go slow and all is good but all of sudden off it goes. I was wondering if I use the smallest spiral blade would that help.

I had a tough time with the puzzle blades, too.  It depends on the thickness of the wood, but I went back to the ultra reverse blades.  I have more control.

Thanks for carrying on the talk. I was wondering if its the wood type. I use Baltic Birsch 1/2 for the puzzle and 1/8 for the pattern

I use 1/8 for the pattern too but usually 1/4 for the picture.  Never thought about 1/2

I've used the puzzle blades on 1/8" plywood with no problem....Other than it takes a lot of time.
Even if you veer off of the line, who would ever know it? As long as the pieces fit you are OK.
Some people don't even use a "cutting pattern" at all, they just free hand the entire thing. Let it go where it may and it will be all right.
The thinner puzzle blades just let things fit together much better and will make tighter turns when cutting than the larger, thicker ones.
