ex-21 air bellows

On my used 21 I picked up, the force of air coming out of the blower nozzle is (to me) lousy.  My starter saw, porter cable, the nozzle tip could be 2-2.5 inches away from the blade/wood and work to blow off the sawdust.

This ex-21 the nozzle has to be about one half inch away

How close to the work/blade do you  have to be where the nozzle is effective?  Do I need a new air pump (bellows) for the saw?

I just got a new EX-21.  I have to keep the nozzle pretty close to the blade as well.  My old Dewalt was the same way.

I finally gave up on using the air supplied from the bellows on my Hegner saws.  I now have an $8 hair dryer blowing all the sawdust away as I saw.

I found out on my ex-16 the way the bellows works sometimes pulls dust back up into the nozzle tip, I can tap the tip and dust will come out after that it works great. So once in a while I tap the end of the nozzle to clear it out.

So what is normally considered a high quality saw, dropped the ball in that area.

hard to believe a $90 porter cable has a better air pump and comes with an integral light too.
