A "Welcome" sign for over our front door. (NEWBIE)
« on: March 07, 2015, 04:08:35 pm »
A "Welcome" sign I designed & cut recently.  Both boards are Exterior Plywood, finished with 3 coats of Acrylic lacquer similar to the lacquer used on cars.  I made this to place outdoors above the front door of our house.

As a relative "newbie", having only been scrolling for 1 month, I'm quite pleased with how this came out.

Thanks for all the kind comments folks, real encouraging!  ;D

Within 5 mins of posting the photo on my Facebook page, I was asked "how much for the sign?"!

I made this one for home, but I have said I will make another one for my friend who asked.

I have a Craft Show coming up in about 4 weeks....I best get busy on some projects...both scrolling & turning!!

I think you'll be surprised at how quickly you'll pick up skills on the scroll saw and be making great items. I have a local guy that does flower arrangements for funerals. He'll occasionally need something special that you can't get from an on-line store (some nick name or other image special to the family) that I can turn out overnight for him. It's a remarkable tool.

ONE MONTH?  ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????  That is terrific scrolling, especially on letters, they are the hardest to scroll.  Excellent work.  Keith where abouts in Norfolk do you hail from.  I have a friend in Swaffham and a cousin in Martham near Great Yarmouth.

Great job and you certainly should be proud.  You should add several of those to your craft show.  Should be sellers for you.
