Blades?

Hello All, I have a dewalt scrollsaw that takes blades with no pins. I cannot find any blades like that at lowes. Could you help me find more? Thank you,

Hey Noah, follow Paul's advise and talk to Mike at Mike's Workshop.  The flying Dutchman blades are superior to anything  in the stores. (Plus they are cheaper too.)
Mike will ship them out quickly so you'll be up and running in no time.

Get your FD blades from Mike; if you gotta have blades today, Ace Hardware carries a good variety of somewhat pricier Olsen blades.

Ok, I have to post an alternative statement here regarding blades. I realize that if you line up 100 scrollers, 80 or more of them will claim that the sun rises and sets on Flying Dutchman blades. However the other 20 of us have found that other blades are superior for our needs and techniques. Personally I have used both Flying Dutchman and Olson blades. For me the Olson is easier to use. I find that the FD blades are just a little too unforgiving. I realize that this probably says more about me than the blades. What I guess I'm saying is that it wouldn't hurt to try a few different brands to see what works best for you.

Olson does make good blades I use them on the scroll and band saws

I use both olson and FD blades and think they are both very good blades. I get my FD's from Mikes workshop and the olson's from WoodenTeddybear.com.  Like has been said, see which one works best for you and go from there.  Both Mikes and wooden teddy bear have excellent service and can't be beat.  Good luck.

Jim is giving sound advice here and I have to agree.  It is a big mistake to settle on something just through other peoples recommendations.  Try different maker and different types of blades. 


then go buy some 3/0 New Spiral blades by Flying Dutchman from Mike......  Just kidding.

When I first started scroll sawing and I ,of course, needed some blades, I went to Lowes and Home Depot. They usually have everything so why no blades? lol
 Lowes didn't have any but Home Depot did and so I bought them. I now wish that I knew about Flying Dutchman blades before I bought them.
 My experience is..... There is not a large variety of sizes available.
                               There were mostly PINNED ones. So  I had to purchase a multi pack to get different sizes and UNPINNED ones.
  I finally decided to purchase some FD ones after reading posts in here.  I am glad that I did because there is a LARGE variety of sizes and the prices are better!
 So now I purchase those. I think I will stick with FD blades because  I am satisfied with them.
  I use different SIZES. One day I will purchase some spiral and  reverse blades.
 But remember... To Each Their Own.
 Do what YOU feel is best for YOU.  Good luck hun.
