Finished But Not
« on: August 15, 2014, 10:12:25 pm »
I just finished cutting this this evening.  I haven't finished sanding and framing it yet.  I want to come up with a frame that has some Native American design to it.  The pattern for this was done by "Fish" (Dan) and posted on the Scroll Saw Village site.  It is titled "Navajo Medicine Man"   I love portraits of Native Americans.  they always seem to have a lot of character.  I've saved several and hope to complete a series of them.  Please to critique.  I love constructive criticism, I find it a great teacher.  Thanks for looking.

Great job.  For a frame you could possibly do something rustic with Navaho symbols and feathers on the corner(s).  Thanks for sharing this with us.

You certainly did a terrific job on the cutting, Dan will be honored that you liked his pattern so much.  Keep up the good work.

If you can find some old barn wood laying around, you could try a frame something like this.

The corners are half lap joints. I have seen some with twine or leather bindings in the corners also.

Thank you all for the very nice comments.

I was looking at the cutting last night and it seems I am not finished!  I see three drill holes, that definitely show up in the picture that I didn't get cut.  One by the man's right eye (our left) and two on his right shoulder!  Now I have to print the pattern again and figure out what needs to be there, cut wise.  They show up plain as day but i didn't see them until last night...
